Eco Panel – Fabric Covered Energy Saver Side Panels for Window Air Conditioners

Good Looks!

Your ac will be in your window all summer long so we think it should look good!  Accordion panels block the breeze but look like.. well accordion panels.  Our panels are faced on both sides with Sunbrella ® fabrics that are known for great color retention, cleanability, and their incredible durability.  It will also block the sun’s UV rays preventing damage to the foam insulation. Good looking inside and out!

Side Panel Insulation

Our insulation.   Less CO2 and energy savings!

Our panels are built on Halo™ Graphite Polystyrene (GPS), the new standard in thermal insulation. Thanks to millions of graphite infrared absorbers and heat reflectors that reduce thermal conductivity, GPS provides a long-term thermal performance of R3 while offering a minuscule embodied carbon footprint compared to other rigid insulation materials.

The installation

Our panels are simple to install. Just remove the accordion panel from the frame, cut the R-3 Energy Saver to size and insert in the frame and start saving energy.  Semi rigid panel will not break and stays snuggly in place without the need for self-stick side channels

Save Energy

Who wants a 7.5 square inch hole in their wall?  A report by the Urban Green Council found that typical room air conditioners have a thermal leakage rate equivalent to a 7.5 sq. in. hole.  A DOE study found that a well-insulated unit could save up to 280 kwh per year over a standard accordion panel unit. At an average electricity cost of $0.12 that means a loss of $33 per year or $235 over the life of a window AC.  In a high energy cost area that could be up to $375 over the life of the unit!  If all window air conditioners were improved in this way, the nation’s energy use could be reduced by 17.2 billion kwh per year, saving consumers $2 billion each year.
